The Minority Serving Institution Research Academy (MSIRA) gives students a chance to get hands-on training in research. Successful applicants will be invited to enroll in POSC 114L for Fall 2024, a 4-unit course. After successfully completing POSC 114L, MSIRA will match selected students with faculty mentors who will work closely with students on research projects; this mentored research will require enrollment in POSC 197, a 4-unit course that will serve as a 12-hour-per-week apprenticeship. Students who complete the course and the apprenticeship will be awarded a modest stipend and a certificate of completion and will be recognized as an MSIRA fellow on our website.
